Scope and Contents

This hat is shown in Joseph Needham's photographs dated 1978. In an envelope labeled 'Sinkiang 78' is a photograph showing Joseph Needham and Lu Gwei-Djen wearing caps (Joseph Needham is wearing this cap) with Timur Dawamat and Hu Sai-Yin Abdallah standing beside them. On the back is a note stating '11 May, Urumchi, official dinner, presentation of caps'.
