Red seal ink in a round ceramic container decorated with a picture of a woman standing near water, 2007
Scope and Contents
This is a product of a well-known shop based in Hangzhou and with branches elsewhere, Xiling Seal Club 西泠印社. The ink container is held in a box covered in green and gold patterned fabric. The lid has a painted picture of a woman wearing long, flowing robes and holding a fan. She is standing near water with a container of bushes and a temple tower behind her. The base is decorated with pictures of dragons, and has a Qianlong era 乾隆 seal of manufacture in the centre. The box contains a plastic ink spatula, a seal of authenticity, and an information leaflet written in Chinese.
