The plate has a silver rim with an inner ring of red and gold patterns, and a gold centre. The inscription in the centre of the plate reads: 李約瑟先生惠存弘揚中國文化中國醫藥學院院長郭榮趙敬贈中華民囯七十三年九月二十六日 It is held in its original box and includes a plate stand.
