The notes are by Joseph Needham and Lu Gwei-Djen. The related documents comprise a cutting of part of a newspaper article citing a poem by Walter de la Mare about the rose; copy of the 'English Tripos. Part ii' exam paper for May 1973, in which Needham has highlighted a poem by Thomas Carew about the rose. (Needham notes that this was 'from Jeremy Prynne, 6 May 76').
