Scope and Contents
The case comes from the 13th century manual of jurisprudence and detection, 《棠陰比事》 on which van Gulik was working. The documents include a typescript English translation of the case. Other matters discussed include van Gulik's book 'Erotic Colour Prints of the Ming Dynasty', (Tokyo 1951); van Gulik's work as Director of the Africa and Middle East Division of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
