This letter regrets that they were not able to spend more time together during the Third International Conference on the History of Chinese Science, suggests a meeting to discuss a proposal for a ‘Collected Work of J. Needham’ and requests a short statement by Joseph Needham for publication in Zhongguo ke xue shi liao 中国科学史料 journal.
