Lu originally prepared a biography for inclusion in the 'Ming Biographical History'. However, the biography was never published as part of the 'History' as there were disagreements on the editing of the piece, (See SCC2/245/3/1-2). A biography was published in 'Physis' under the heading 'China's Greatest Naturalist; a Brief Biography of Li Shih-Chen', (1966).
