Scope and Contents
Chang Chih-Lang was the author of 'Materials for the study of the Intercourse of China with other Countries', (1930). Chang Chih-Shan asks for help with his work to complete his fathers 'translation and annotation of a Persian book 'Khitainameh' (Description of China). The related documents include a letter from Professor Sir Harold Bailey of the Indo-Iranian Archaeology Library, Cambridge to Joseph Needham about possible sources of help for the translation; typescript of a Joseph Needham's 'comment about the value and siginifcance of the 'Khitainameh'; letter to Joseph Needham from John Critchley of the Department of History and Archaeology, University of Exeter, about his meeting with Chang Chih-Shan in China and Chang's progress with the translation.
