The exact dates and locations of some of the photographs taken in North Korea are not certain. Joseph Needham no doubt had to be cautious in the use of his camera. It is assumed that he took the photographs at/near the prisioner-of-war camp at Wuhao (Camp 5 五号 on the Yalu River, Pyoktong 벽동군) on 5 August on his final day there. Judging from photograph NRI2/10/1/31/3/32, the members of the Commission and colleagues were housed in a special compound somewhere near the Camp.
