Joseph Needham had written to ask if Lu Gwei-Djen's letters were being censored and delayed. N.B. Jopson states that 'only a portion of the Chinese mail is being censored even now' and enquires whether Joseph Needham would assist the Postal Censorship as 'it is exceedingly difficult to find competent readers of Chinese in this country.'
