The correspondence comprises a copy of a letter from Mitsuo Takatomi of the Science Council of Japan to Greenaway, about plans for the Congress; copy of a letter from M. Watanabe of the University of Tokyo, to Greenaway, about plans for Congress; copy of Greenaway's reply to Watanabe; copy of a letter from Takatomi to Greenaway, about the possibility of meeting Joseph Needham in Japan (this letter is accomapnied by a covering note from John C. Hallam of The Science Museum, London).
The documents also include a 'Report of the International Union of the History and Philosophy of Science' prepared by Greenaway; Needham's notes from a meeting with 'Takatomi, Seki and Nakajo' about the organisation of the Congress.
