Sitting figurine of Li Shizhen 李時珍, 1987?
Scope and Contents
This is a sitting figurine of the famous chinese herbist Li Shizhen 李時珍 (1518-1593). Similar to GBR/1928/NRI/NRI2/8/13/2/40, Li wears a white robe and brownish hat, and is sitting on a blue stone with legs crossed in the 'Erlang Legs' (Erlang Tui 二郎腿) pose. Behind him lies a brown hoe and next to him sits his filled herb basket. He holds a pile of book scrolls on his left hand. The base of the sculpture has the characters 'CHINA 87'.
