Floral teapot, 1950-1980?
Scope and Contents
This is a white porcelain teapot with coloured floral graphics on opposite sides on the body of the pot, and gold decorative patterns on and around the lid of the pot. The handles are made of metal wires attached to the top of the pot, likely a replacement added on after the creation of the pot. The more squared or regular shape of the pot differs from traditional Chinese teapots, suggesting that this teapot may have been created quite recently in Europe. However, the floral graphic and gold decorative patterns mimic Chinese styles.
