Small red teapot with Wan shou wu jiang (萬壽無疆) inscription, 1736-1795 [Qianlong year system乾隆年制]?
Scope and Contents
This is a small red teapot with a lid decorated with flowers and plants. Four circles containing one character each are illustrated on it, spelling the phrase Wan shou wu jiang (萬壽無疆) 'Unlimited long life'. The colour has faded somewhat. The reign mark Qianlong nian zhi 乾隆年製 (Made in the Qianlong era) [1736-1795] is present on the bottom. Many similar such teapots can be found online, and imitations from later decades (especially in the 1940s-1960s) are common.
