It is decorated with cloud and thunder patterns (yun lei wen 雲雷紋) from the mouthpiece to the waist. The handle is topped by a sheep head pattern (yang shou wen 羊首紋). Two stalks topped by cones extend from base of the mouthpiece engraved with cloud patterns (yun wen 雲紋). The logo of the National Palace Museum, Taipei is on the base. (Description from the National Palace Museum website: '本爵從流嘴到腹部的表面,都是用「雲雷紋」滿飾的圖案,但在右側牛頭把手的兩邊腹壁上,還可辨出上有一卷角的大「羊首紋」,下有一小「獸面紋」;其在左側的腹面,所飾與右側同。
