Scope and Contents
This is a replica of the ritual bronze cauldron shi tang fu ding 師湯父鼎. The original dates to the mid Western Zhou, and is in the collection of the Palace Museum in Taipei. '侈口,平折沿,立耳,圜底,垂腹,三蹄足。器耳飾兩道弦紋,器身紋飾分為兩段,口沿下為回首垂冠長尾小鳳鳥,腹飾回首垂冠捲羽大鳳鳥,左右兩兩相對,具平衡穩重之美感。足上飾獸面紋。器內壁銘文8行54字。 師湯父鼎為西周中期的一位大臣所有,他的名字是「師湯父」。鼎內有銘文54字,記錄周王賞賜弓、箭和盾的事情,並包括日期、地點和過程。' (Description from the website of the Palace Museum, Taipei).
