Joseph Needham’s file title is ‘BBC tel “Doubts and Certainties” Oliver Hunkin em. Sep 75’. It contains correspondence (many are letters of appreciation for the broadcast), handwritten notes and an article from The Listener dated 25 Sep. 1975 relating to the broadcast. One letter dated 5 Oct. 1975 was sent from Evelyn Fawson (subsequently Evelyn Seguin) who was one of the original members of the UNESCO Natural Sciences Department, working with Dr Grimmett, and her signature is on the plaque on the table Joseph Needham brought to Cambridge. She sends her regards to Lu Gwei-Djen and Dorothy Needham. The file also contains correspondence from Joseph Needham’s cousin Eric Needham.
