‘Notes for Speeches’, 1951 - 1955

Scope and Contents

This file contains handwritten notes, correspondence, newspaper cuttings and copies of booklets. The notes were often prompts for speeches and the location and date are given at the top of the sheets. Many relate to the atom bomb, the war in Korea, and the relationship between the West and China. The file includes typescripts of Joseph Needham’s Presidential Address to the Britain-China Friendship Association annual conference in Apr. 1951. Also:
