Stamps from Great Britain, Hong Kong and Korea, 1932 - 2011
Scope and Contents
These stamps comprise:
Three British stamps for the value of 1½ pence and ½ pence. They show King [George V?] and are stuck on a postal tube from Browne and Lilly Ltd. (Manufacturers and Exporters of Portable Buildings, Reading) addressed to Frank Howes, 5 Duke’s Lane, Church Street, Kensington, London, with a postmark 1932.
Six Hong Kong stamps commemorating the Festival of Hong Kong in 1973 and the Lunar New Year on 23 January 1974.
Eight Korean stamps attached together on a sheet entitled ‘Old Maps of Korea Special’.
It is interesting that Joseph Needham, who was an enthusiastic collector of other objects, does not have a large stamp collection. It may have been given away during his lifetime.
