Scope and Contents
Letter to 'Mrs Stevenson' from Andrea Langford of Girton College [first President of UWU], inviting her to support a Trust Fund, and a press cutting re the establishment of the University Women's Union. [The University Women's Union was founded in 1955 (?) as a social and intellectual centre for all women members of Cambridge University. It came about as a result of the continued exclusion of women from membership of the Union Society, ie the Cambridge University debating society, and the idea may have been accelerated by the foundation of New Hall.]
