Scope and Contents
CDs of selected photographs scanned from Dame Rosemary Murray's personal photograph albums. CD 1 holds 32 photographs including: ARM's passport photograph circa 1935; Cambridge University Chemistry Laboratory staff [1940s?]; various portraits of ARM, head and shoulders [1970s?]; ARM with her parents at Buckingham Palace for her father's DSO, circa 1920; Fellows of New College Oxford [late 19C? - William Archibald Spooner, Warden, was ARM's maternal grandfather]; New Hall first year, 1954; flooded land in Cambridge, 1950s?; Murray family photographs, 1920s and 1930s; ARM with M C Bradbrook at Girton Roll Luncheon for the latter's retirement, 1976; group of Girton fellows at Helen McMorran's retirement party, 1962; honorary degree 1967; Girton leaving party for ARM 1954 - formal group photograph of ARM with the Mistress and Fellows; dinner held on completion of the Lockwood report.. CD 2 holds 46 photographs including: ARM and Robin Hammond holding the New Hall charter 1972; ARM and Robin Hammond holding the New Hall flag 1972; honorary degree Cambridge University; New hall buildings in the 1960s; ARM with the robe she wore as Vice-Chancellor of CU, circa 1976; party to celebrate the New Hall statutes, including Jean Thomas, Vivien Stewart, Mrs Camps, Colin Bertram, Sheila Winter, Dorothy Coleman, E Goody, John Boys-Smith, Robin Hammond, Elizabeth Rawson, Mary Dult, and Charles Crawley; ARM as Vice-Chancellor, circa 1976. CD 3 holds 30 photographs including: presentation to RM on her departure from New Hall in 1981; family gatherings; RM in later life; RM at various of her honorary degree ceremonies, including photographs showing her with Gerald Ford, President of the USA; photographs of various New Hall events, including the Rt Hon Betty Boothroyd, MP, with RM at an official opening ceremony 1995 and ? Rawson Reading Room opening 1996 ?; a WRNS reunion; and RM with New Hall fellows ca. 1976. In addition, each CD holds a Microsoft Power Point slide show of all the photographs on each CD.

Existence and Location of Originals
The photographs were scanned in New Hall in 2005 and the original albums were then returned to Dame Rosemary's sister.
