Contains photographs, letters and news cuttings. Includes the following: letter addressed to Mr Henry Trench in Ireland containing cartoons of 'The Gent-Cadet', c. 1869?; sepia photo of a group of cadets, no date (c. early 1890s?), no names (but includes Douglas Gore-Booth?); 3 photos, probably of Douglas Gore-Booth embarking for service in South Africa; 'J G Dennistoun's Photos of the Grave' (ie the grave of Douglas Gore-Booth), 1903; obituaries for 2nd Lieut. Douglas Bloomfield Gore-Booth, 1900 (died of enteric fever at Mooi River, Natal, 9 January 1900, while on service) and newspaper report of the activities of the 2nd Dorset Regiment on frontline service in South Africa, 1899; miniature painting of the colours of the Dorset Regiment, with related letter, 1903; letters relating to the death of Douglas Gore-Booth and memorials to him and others; miscellaneous items relating to DG-B's army service - Sandhurst lists, telegrams, letters, 1893-99; Cambridge University Tripos class lists clipped from newspapers, 1894 and 1897; residents' list for Pembroke College from the Cambridge Review, 16 Oct 1895; Douglas Gore-Booth's visiting cards; 7pp description by DG-B of a Climb in the Pyrenees, written Oct 18 1895; items relating to memorials to DG-B, 1903-04, including a photo of a silver flagon donated by his parents to Cheltenham College, photos of the Cheltenham College memorial cross to Old Cheltonians, 1903, and press cuttings re and photographs of the Sherborne Abbey memorial to those of the Dorsetshire Regiment who fell in South Africa, 1904; items relating to the Parish of St John's, Weston, Mooi River, Natal, South Africa, including a postcard of the church lychgate, c 1914, report of a vestry meeting c 1905, and letters from the vicar of St John's to Mrs Gore-Booth, 1903-04 and 1908.
