Tennyson, dated Sep. 21st 1864, addressed to 'Dear Mrs Freer [Rose Freer, sister of Richard Jesse, who married Emily Tennyson, Alfred's sister] - AT agrees to be godfather to Mary Emily Tennyson, youngest daughter of Rose Freer. Together with related correspondence with A C T Brotherton, 1965, and some biographical details relating to 1) William Jesse and his children; 2) Emily Tennyson (sister of Alfred) and her children; 3) Mary Emily Tennyson Brotherton (nee Freer) (goddaughter of AT and mother of A C T Brotherton and grandmother of Carola Brotherton, New Hall alumna) and her children and grandchildren, 1999.
