Commemorative film [2nd edition] relating to the early days of New Hall [on video tape and on DVD], 2004
Scope and Contents
The commemorative film is about 30 minutes long. It is compiled largely from excerpts from video tapes of interviews with older academic and staff members of New Hall [NHPH 10/1/1-20] and also includes black and white photographs from the 1950s and contemporary footage of the building of New Hall in the 1960s, alongside new photography. It was filmed by LBV Television of Gainsborough and is narrated by Claudia Winkleman, TV personality and New Hall alumna. The emphasis of the film is on the character and achievement of New Hall's Founder President, Dame Rosemary Murray. The inspiration for the project came from Alison Wilson, New Hall Librarian. Part of the funding for the film came from EEMLAC [East of England Museums, Libraries and Archives Council].
