KATE PRETTY, interviewed 12 July 2001 (62 minutes): KP, New Hall undergraduate 1965-68, graduate student 1968-72, Fellow 1972-?, recalls her undergraduate interview, accommodation, discipline, and the distinctiveness of New Hall in the 1960s and 1970s. As a former don she reflects on admissions policy, student representation and the rent strike, the relationship between Rosemary Murray and the Fellowship, Rosemary Murray as Vice-Chancellor, and the influence of this on New Hall's standing. She then reflects on her time as Senior Tutor when Valerie Pearl was President, and the conflicts between their styles.
