Originally kept in various portfolios, scrapbooks, boxes and packets, by topic e.g. `Geological correspondence - English' and date. The letters were filed and numbered in rough chronological sequence within each file with a contents list by Sedgwick, giving names and some note of subject-matter. Now re-numbered as I A-H, as follows:
