32 letters from Thomas to his family, 1871-72; MS essay 'Persia  a buffer state'. [1-32] Letters from de Visme Thomas to members of his family, l4 NOV 1871 to 22 JUN 1872, while private secretary to Goldsmid during the expedition to survey and negotiate settlement of Perso-Afghan and Perso-Baluch border questions.
