Visit of the Duke and Duchess of York to Uganda 1925
Scope and Contents
Collection of loose mostly uncaptioned prints, chiefly relating to the visit of Duke and Duchess of York (later H.M. King George VI and H.M. Queen Elizabeth) to Uganda in February-March 1925. An attempt has been made to identify the photographs from the published programme of the visit, and cuttings relating to it, which were presented with the photographs, and also other printed works such as 'King George VI: his life and reign' by John Wheeler-Bennett (1958). It seems likely that numbers 1-61 relate to the Royal visit and in particular to hunting expeditions; 62-80 are Ugandan scenes and ceremonies and 81-86 are miscellaneous views, probably mainly in England and presumably relating to the Jarvis family.
Y3045I/46 is by H.J. Roemele.
