Scope and Contents
Poems, possibly in the hand of Haydock Morres, 339 folios. There are several corrections and additions in a second hand. There is an index of first lines at fo. i v, and a list of contents at fo. 1. The verso is blank throughout, apart from occasional notes and additions. The names George Stone, H.M. Morres, 'Honest Will. Burke', Hervey Morres, and Henrietta Percival appear in the MS., written in eighteenth-century hands. The name and stamp of Haydock Morres (fo. 309: of 'Derry Park') also appear regularly.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The volume belonged to George Stone, H.M. Morres, and Haydock Morres, during the eighteenth century. It was purchased by 'Ellis' from Salkeld, Clapham Road, London, in 1924, 'who obtained it from the North of Scotland'. Presented to the Library by Sir Stephen Gaselee, 1940.
