School Classics Notebook

 File
Reference Code: GBR/0012/MS Add.5979

Scope and Contents

A classics notebook compiled apparently by Richard Williamson, 231 folios. There are loose sheets in the volume from a printed work, one of which has the manuscript note 'Mr. E.R. Williamson. To the care of Revd. D. Williamson Deans Yard Westminster'. According to a list of contents and subject index on folios ii-iv, the book is divided into three sections, 'geography and places', 'philosophy and persons' and 'antiquities and things', which, however, are intermingled in the text. On fos 221v-228v, written in reverse in the same hand, is a list of boys admitted to Westminster School, 1811-1828, with references to the pages of a book or record. Fos i, 94, 114-119, 128-133, 138-141, 158-158, 195-198, 205-208, 210 and 213 are blank.
