Biographical / Historical

Geoffrey Moffat served in the Royal Air Force, 1952-1955. He carried out two tours of duty as a field officer in Nigeria with the quasi-government organisation W.A.I.T.R. (West African Institute For Trypanosomiasis Research) during 1957-1960.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The first tranche of papers relating to Moffat's service with W.A.I.T.R. was presented by Geoffrey Moffat in 2005. Subsequent material, photographs and a copy of an account relating to a VW Pick-Up truck, were donated in further tranches in July 2007 and September 2010.
