Biographical / Historical

Jane Bell M.B.E. lived in Uganda from 1952 to 1961 where her husband, Christopher Richard Vincent Bell (b. 1911), was successively Deputy Director and, from 1958, Director of Education. Jane Bell was interested in the status and education of women, and was Chairman of the Further Education Sub-Committee of the Uganda Council of Women.
