Requests for access may be directed to the Royal Greenwich Observatory Archivist by sending an email to mss@lib.cam.ac.uk. Three items/ sets of items noted as additions in the manuscript draft catalogue (''New Constants for Uncatalogued Stars, Greenwich Twelve Year Catalogues of Stars, Annual Catalogues 1877-1886'') were not found on the shelf at cataloguing in 2011.

Biographical / Historical

It is thought these volumes are the preparatory reduction work of stellar observations made at Greenwich for the production of published star catalogues, particularly as a number are annotated with the phrase 'Copy for Press' or similar. Some parts (epoch 1892-1905, declination +90° to +65°) may represent work that contributed to the international 'Astrographic Catalogue' project.
