Scope and Contents

This series comprises material relating to Bateson's research into hunting with dogs, following a commission by the National Trust to investigate the welfare of red deer. Also included is material gathered in response to Bateson's report and Bateson's subsequent engagement with other studies and inquiries on hunting. Comprises secondary literature, articles and draft sections of articles, correspondence, audio-visual material, copies of the National Trust report and Bateson's involvement in a case brought by the League Against Cruel Sports in 2006.
