Pitt Street, 1870
Scope and Contents
282 x 196 mm. A view of some of the more impressive buildings in Pitt Street, looking towards Bridge Street and taken from the junction of Pitt Street and Spring Street. The exchange can be seen at the end of the row of buildings, while the second building on the right with columns on the second storey and a stone parapet with a statue above it, is No 60 Pitt Street, the Australian Mutual Provident Society Building which in 1863 won an inter-colonial competition for its designers Reed and Barnes.
