Conditions Governing Access
The University Archives are generally freely available to the holder of a reader's ticket for the Manuscripts Reading Room at Cambridge University Library, West Road, Cambridge CB3 9DR. Biographical / Historical
The General Board (of the Faculties) was established in 1882, and is responsible for the University's teaching and research programme including appointment of examiners, for advising on educational policy and for controlling the resources needed for its implementation. The Needs Committee, Education Committee, and Work and Stipends Committee (which dealt with academical and academic-related personnel matters) all reported to the General Board. Chairman of the Board: the Vice-Chancellor; Secretary: the Secretary General of the Faculties.
