Conditions Governing Access
The University Archives are generally freely available to the holder of a reader's ticket for the Manuscripts Reading Room at Cambridge University Library, West Road, Cambridge CB3 9DR. Restrictions on access are imposed on certain categories of sensitive record: financial, governmental and personal, by order of the originating body or under data protection legislation. Biographical / Historical
The body was established in October 1970 as Cambridge Students Union to campaign on such issues as student representation on University governing bodies and the admission of women students. In subsequent decades, interests extended to student funding, state school admissions, nursery provision and counselling, among other things. In March 1985, its name changed to Cambridge University Students Union. It had premises at 3 Round Church Street, 1971-84; 4 Round Church Street, 1984-90; 11/12 Trumpington Street, 1990-2007; Old Examination Hall, Free School Lane, 2007- .
