Hoping he is enjoying himself in Paris; telling him they got to London fine, and talked to a man on the train from Paris who has a car, had been in Monte Carlo (it was one of those very fast cars) and said that Count Z was crazy; Marguerite R [Margaret Radford] had given her a sweet little tortoise; yesterday she went to Mrs Radford’s for tea, Miss Ros Thor was there [Rosalind Thornycroft, daughter of Hamo Thornycroft, sculptor, a co-founder of King Alfred School], and Miss H.I.R. [Harriet Radford], they enjoyed acting living tableaux; Robin Warne (cousin of the Radfords) and Maitland [Radford] was at tea too; they played hockey that morning then 4 of the boys (Maitland Radford, W.M., Harriet’s brother, and Robin Warne) went to the Finchley Road Baths, W.M. took a football and threw it at the ceiling where it broke three electric light bulbs, Sergeant Biggs was furious and made W.M. pay 3 francs 60 centimes and said he wouldn’t let the four naughty boys in again, then they all went to W.M.’s and had a good lunch; Sylvia had got blood poisoning in her foot, but it was better now; and sending heaps of love.
