Postcard to [Edward and Lizzie] Rose from Dolly [Dorothy Rose], 8 April 1902
Scope and Contents
Sent from [Edgehill House, Ipswich]. Dorothy writes that they (“Granny and I”) hope they got back safely; she had been climbing the trees in the lane but could not get high because of the pine needles (Granny watched); she put some tags and nails in the garden to support a plant; Aunty B [Bessie Stains?] came and was surprised they had gone; Mrs Sammy came with her cousin Miss Bradbury from Sheffield and they stayed for tea; Rosalind is well; she would go for a walk with Mrs S [Sammy?] one day; she and Granny had supper in the study; and she had been printing and drawing and Granny had been reading.
She asks them not to forget the block and films, mentions that Granny [Anne Brookes Rose] had joined Garden City [Letchworth Garden City], and sends her love to all at Hampstead especially Rudy [the dog].
