Letter to Mummy [Lizzie Rose] from Dorothy [Rose], 4 October 1899
Scope and Contents
Hoping she had arrived safely and was having fine weather. Dorothy writes that she is sending Grandfather the matchbox and asks her mother to give the other page to him (other page not present). [The Grandfather mentioned is Lizzie Rose’s father John Gould, a farm labourer, of Thornford. Her mother had died 1897 at 57].
