Letter from Adams, Walter 1933-1936, 1936-04-21

 Item
Reference Code: GBR/0012/MS Add.7653/1/i/A/16

Scope and Contents

Adams has been away for a week and apologises for not replying to Rutherford's February 19 letter enclosing the copy of McGowan's of April 08 [MS Add.7653/1/i/A/15 and 15a]. This is good news and will be of substantial help. Dr Traube's case is particularly hard as he is 75 and has several dependent relatives in Edinburgh. Adams has written to Dr C.B. Heald about his request about a German who could help his with high-frequency short-wave work. The edition of the 'Manchester Guardian' has become a member of the Society for the Protection of Science and Learning. Lord Bearsted has given a further £500.
The original paper typescript letter written on the recto only, signed by Adams.
