Scope and Contents
An undated manuscript copy of the treaty between Japan and Hawaii signed by Charles E. De Long, on behalf of King Kamehameha V of the Hawaiian Islands, and by Sawa Nobuyoshi and Terashima Munenori, on behalf of the Emperor Meiji of Japan, dated Yedo, 19 August 1871, followed by a copy of the ratification of the treaty signed by Kamehameha and Charles C. Harris, Honolulu, 11 May 1871 [sic].
