Scope and Contents Correspondence and statements of evidence concerning Jules Brunet and other Frenchmen in the service of the Tycoon and subsequently in league with rebels against the Emperor Meiji's government. An undated manuscript copy of the treaty between Japan and Hawaii signed by Charles E. De Long, on behalf of King Kamehameha V of the Hawaiian Islands, and by Sawa Nobuyoshi and Terashima Munenori, on behalf of the Emperor Meiji of Japan, dated Yedo, 19 August 1871, followed by a copy of the ratification of the treaty signed by Kamehameha and Charles C. Harris, Honolulu, 11 May 1871 [sic].
