Japanese letter to G.A.C. Brooker, 1859
Scope and Contents
A copy of a letter (in Japanese) from Mizuno Chikugo [Mizuno Tadanori], Nagai Gemba, Inoue Shinano [Inoue Kiyonao], Hori Oribe [Hori Toshihiro] and Muragaki Awaji to George A.C. Brooker, 22 February 1859, 3 folios, with a bifolio containing a translation of the letter from Japanese into Dutch (with the additional signature of Moriyama Takichiro), followed by a translation from Dutch into English, certified by Henry Heuskens. There is also an envelope labelled 'Capt Brooker visit to Japan Copies of Letters'.
