Scope and Contents

Typescript correspondence and related papers regarding the Provident Funds and Schemes of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd; the China Sugar Refining Co. Ltd; and the Rio Tinto Company Ltd. Much of the material is concerned with Jardine, Matheson & Co.'s fund and a proposed hypothecation of securities held by the firm for the purpose of securing its fund. Ltd, 1932; drafts of a deed of hypothecation and trust of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd, 1933-1934; and drafts of a declaration of trust of Matheson & Co.
