Correspondence of senior partners, 1906-1908
Scope and Contents
Private and personal letters of partners of Jardine, Matheson & Co., mainly regarding the retirement of Herbert Irving-Bell from Yokohama. Much of the correspondence is between Sir R.W.B. Jardine and William Keswick. The other correspondents include C.E. Anton, Aubrey Brocklebank, W.J. Gresson, H. Irving-Bell, Messrs J.C. & A. Steuart, Henry Keswick, J.J. Keswick, W. Paterson, Sir W.G. Armstrong & Co., and Henry Wenham. Most of the letters are manuscript originals, but there are also some press copies and a few telegrams. The letters have a wrapper describing their contents. The original envelope was numbered 31.
