Correspondence between Jardine Matheson, Canton and Hong Kong, regarding the Whampoa Port Development and Back Reach railway projects, with related papers, including a report of Dr E.P. Goodrich's address to the Canton Rotary Club on 8 September 1937 on 'The plan of Whampoa Port'. There are also other letters, including correspondence of Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, with Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, and Jardine Matheson, Shanghai. The correspondents include D.G.M. Bernard, A.P. Blunt, J.K. Bousfield, Butterfield & Swire, L.G. Frost, V.M. Grayburn, W.J. Keswick. D.F. Landale, Captain R. Longworth, J.J. Paterson, J.W. Platt and A.E. Smith.
