Letter no. 387 of 27 April 1939 has been numbered incorrectly as no. 381. There are also extracts of semi-official letters nos 18 from Hankow to Shanghai, 11 March 1929, and 104 from Shanghai to Hankow, 21 March 1929.

The enclosures include copies of a letter from R.C.L. d'Anjou, Commissioner of Customs, Hankow, to the Administrator, Jardine Estate, regarding the cost of maintaining roads, policing, etc., on the Jardine Estate, 9 March 1928, and a reply from the Estate Office, Jardine Matheson, Hankow, 10 April 1928, and a plan of the proposed new Bund, S.A.D., No. 3, Hankow, February 1930.
