Scope and Contents
Copies of semi-official letters from F. Jolly, Jardine Matheson, Korea (Seoul), to E.F. Watts, Jardine Matheson, Tokyo, comprised of two unnumbered letters, 22 September 1954 and 3 October 1954, and nos 3-15, 2 November-29 December 1954, with enclosed letters and papers. The focus of the correspondence is trade in Korea, including with regard to cotton and rayon yarn and overcoating material. There are references to Heydemanns, Lendrums and Lustre Fibres with regard to the trade in commodities. The other subjects include the sale of £2,000,000 U.S. Forces funds by public auction. The ring-binder is labelled 'File I'.
