Scope and Contents
Copies of semi-official letters from A. Urquhart, Jardine Matheson, Haiphong and Kunming, to Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, with some enclosed letters:
1. Nos 1-4 from A. Urquhart, Haiphong, to D.F. Landale, all 12 April 1939.
2. Nos 5, 6, 8-43, 46, 49-54, 56, 57, 59-61, 63-65 and 67-83 from A. Urquhart, Kunming, to D.F. Landale and J.J. Paterson, 17 April 1939-22 September 1941.
There are also copies of semi-official letters nos 89 and 93-95 from J.J. Paterson, Hong Kong, to A. Urquhart, Kunming, 8 October-17 December 1940. The semi-official correspondence is preceded by two unsigned letters from Lanchow, dated 30 March 1938 and 5 April 1938.
